Plan Amended plans were sought to reduce the scale of the rear dormer to ensure the dormer would form a subservient addition to the host dwelling and to remove a bedroom within the proposed loft conversion in order to ensure the property would meet the required number of off-street car parking spaces as per the Parking Standards SPD. These amendments were provided as requested. Also, amended plans were sought to include a first-floor set-back to ensure the proposal would appear subservient and would not result in the terracing effect. However, it was agreed that setting the proposed first floor element 1m from the boundary was considered acceptable and would achieve the same result in terms of subservience and preventing the terracing effect, and was also in accordance with the guidance within the Residential Design Guide SPD.
